Keeping McHenry County clean one lane mile at a time!

Love where you live? Help keep McHenry County beautiful! Join our Adopt-A-Highway program and become a local hero in the fight against litter. Since 1995, volunteers like you have been making our roadsides shine, and our dream is to have every single mile adopted. Just gather your crew, pick a half-mile to two-mile stretch of road for two years, and commit to four cleanups a year. It's a small effort that makes a huge, visible impact on our community!

Adopt-A-Highway Supplies

We are appreciative of our adopt a highway groups that put in the work to keep their section of highway in tip-top shape! Clean-ups can be a real challenge, and we are here to ensure you have the supplies needed for success

Available Supplies

Each group is equipped with the following items to support their clean-ups:

Clean Up Kits (Includes orange bags for trash and clear bags for recycling)

Garbage pickers (Up to 10 per group)

Roll-Up Flags (1 set per group)

High-visibility vests (Up to 10 per group)

Adopt-A-Highway T-shirts (Up to 10 per group)

Clean-up kits are free to be picked up at our offices which are located at:
